On September 4, we went on strike once again. This time though, McDonald’s would hear our demands. We risked arrest by performing civil disobedience. So many of us risked arrest that Detroit police officers didn’t have enough room or handcuffs to arrest us all!

The one question we get asked is “Aren’t you scared to get arrested?” Of course, it is scary, but this is our livelihood. We can no longer stand back as corporations make billions, and we struggle living in poverty to feed our families. Together we stand, and together we will win $15 and union rights.

I support Detroit workers who went on strike. Every job in Detroit should pay a living wage.
